Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill Expands into Boulder

DENVER -- Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill, a Denver-based fast casual restaurant concept featuring an authentic Mediterranean menu, today announced its expansion into a third Colorado market: Boulder. The 13th Garbanzo location opens December 22 and is located on the 29th Street Mall at 1905 29th Street, Boulder, CO 80301. Restaurant hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.
 
The latest Garbanzo restaurant joins 10 Denver-metro locations in Highlands, Greenwood Village, Denver, Aurora, Littleton, Park Meadows, Highlands Ranch, University Hills, Lone Tree and Glendale, as well as two Colorado Springs locations in the Broadmoor Towne Center and First and Main Town Center.

McDonald's donates $47,000 to Colorado schools

Denver, CO – December 7, 2010 -- Principals, teachers, parents and administrators from 80 Colorado schools became McDonald’s employees for an evening to earn a minimum of 15% of sales for their local school programs.

Local Colorado McDonald’s owners/operators donated over $47,000 to schools during the fifth annual Teachers Challenge event, which is an increase of over $3,670 from last year!

Holiday hiring up this year

DENVER -- It may be yet another sign the economy is ready to rebound. 

Seasonal hiring for the holidays is expected to be stronger than last year.  Between 550,000 and 650,000 workers will be put on payrolls during the shopping season, according to a Chicago outplacement firm, Challenger, Gray and Christmas Inc.

Yard House Restaurants is holding a job fair—of sorts—beginning Tuesday, Oct. 25, in Denver.

Yard House is looking to fill 200 positions at its new location at the 16th Street Mall, opening in December.

Remember your resume, and don’t forget to bring your mad skills, too.  Hopefuls will be asked to demonstrate their restaurant skills as part of the application process.

Bartender applicants will be asked to test pour shots and drinks using water to create mocktails as well as be tested on drink recipes; kitchen applicants will need to demonstrate the proper way to measure liquids and illustrate various cooking techniques.

Restaurant experience is a plus, but not necessary for all positions. Dynamic personality and a willingness to be a team player will also be a deciding factor.

3,200 participate in 'Taste of the Metro North Chamber'

METRO NORTH REGION, COLO ---  Over 3,200 community members attended the 10th Annual ‘Taste of the Metro North Chamber’ event hosted by Pinnacol Assurance on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Denver Merchandise Mart.  The event, which was open to the public, featured thirty-four premier restaurants and beverage providers who offered ticket holders unlimited ‘tastes’ of their most popular menu items.
