Free landfill day this Saturday

Free Landfill Day offers residents an opportunity to dispose of items that are too large to fit in a polycart.

To get to the Front Range Landfill from Northglenn, take Interstate 25 north to exit 229 (Colorado Highway 7). Go left (west) on Highway 7 to Sheridan Parkway. Turn right (north) on Sheridan Parkway and make a left at the stop sign (County Road 4). At the next stop, turn right (north) onto County Road 5, which leads to the landfill.

Ward IV Neighborhood Meeting

A Ward IV Neighborhood Meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3 at Shepherds' Hall, 650 Kennedy Drive.

Councilmembers Kim Snetzinger and Gene Wieneke will be on hand starting at 6:15 p.m. for a meet and greet.

Colorado McDonald’s restaurants offering free coffee for two weeks

Participating Colorado McDonald’s restaurants will be giving away free coffee to its customers for two weeks. After last February’s successful Free Coffee Event, McDonald’s is bringing back their free coffee to consumers to try their premium-roasted coffee.

Adult Citizen Police Academy starts in September

The city is seeking applicants for its next adult Citizen Police Academy. Sessions will begin on Sept. 14 and run for approximately 11 weeks.

Classes are 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays in the Police Department training room.

Instructors are law enforcement professionals who offer participants the opportunity to become acquainted with the roles and responsibilities of the Police Department and how police service the community.

A Taste for Every Foodie at A Taste of Colorado

Festivalgoers can learn culinary secrets, enjoy gourmet dishes, and savor offerings from some of the state’s favorite food establishments at the 28th annual A Taste of Colorado. The four-day, free admission, food, music, and entertainment Festival will take place Labor Day weekend, Sept. 2 through Sept. 5, in Downtown Denver’s Civic Center Park.
