City holds Traffic Impact Days to encourage safe driving

City holds Traffic Impact Days to encourage safe driving

From the City of Northglenn

Speeding has been a contributing factor to approximately 30 percent of all fatal crashes nationally, leading to over 11,000 lives lost. According to the National Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 210 of those crashes occurred in Colorado.

“Even one life lost to speeding is one too many,” said Police Chief Russ Van Houten. That is why Northglenn’s Police Department is joining the NHTSA law enforcement officials and highway safety leaders across the nation to remind drivers to slow down and stop speeding before it stops you. “We are reminding drivers to stay alert and to watch for and obey all posted speed limits, especially on I-25, in our neighborhoods and in our school zones,” said Van Houten.
