THORNTON, Colo. -- Police have arrested a prison escapee they say attempted to forcibly kidnap a woman from a Walmart parking lot at 9901 N. Grant Street on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Investigators say Daniel Matthew Krajnik, 29, followed a woman into the Walmart store and then followed her to her car as she left around 9:30 p.m.

According to the victim, Krajnik allegedly threatened her with a handgun before grabbing her arm and trying to force her into the car. Several bystanders came to her aid after she yelled for help and Krajnik then left the scene.

Krajnik voluntarily turned himself in and is currently at the Denver County Jail on the Escape charges.
