Guarantee: 30 credits with 2.7 GPA gets you into CU

DENVER -- Colorado's community college students who earn 30 credit hours and achieve at least a 2.7 grade-point average are now guaranteed admission to arts and sciences programs at the University of Colorado's campuses.

Higher education leaders revealed details Tuesday about the new "CU Guaranteed" program, which is effective beginning in the spring semester of 2011.

Mobile medical clinic hits the road for kids' medical care

DENVER -- Metro Denver doctors will be able to provide health care for thousands more children along the Front Range, thanks to a new Ronald McDonald Care mobile medical clinic.

Rocky Mountain Youth Clinics will unveil its third mobile unit at Smiley Middle School in Denver on Wednesday, Nov. 17. 

The mobile medical unit is a fully equipped clinic that will visit dozens of schools in Denver and Aurora, delivering everything from flu shots to physicals and special medical and dental treatments for children who might not otherwise be able to receive medical care.

Senator Udall joins Adams 50 to dedicate flag, honor Marine killed in Iraq

WESTMINSTER, Colo. -- On Wednesday, November 10,  Adams County School District 50 will dedicate the new flag hanging in the gymnasium of  Westminster High School and present a flag to the family of Ranum High School graduate Jeremy Tamburello who was killed in Iraq five years ago this week.  Senator Mark Udall will participate in the ceremony and offer remarks.

Wednesday marks the 235th birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps and is the day before Veterans Day.

Cyberschool students gather for Red Ribbon Week

LITTLETON, Colo. – Hundreds of cyberschool students from across Colorado and their families will gather at Botanic Gardens at Chatfield on Wednesday, Oct. 27, to mark Red Ribbon week, the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country.

Students will pledge to be drug-free and career-focused in a ceremony that will feature a fly-over and landing of a National Guard helicopter.  Following the ceremony, students and their families will celebrate by participating in a corn maze and other festivities at the Botanic Gardens.

The event is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Botanic Gardens at Chatfield, located at 8500 Deer Creek Canyon Road in Littleton.
